Athletic Training Services

The Institute provides certified athletic trainers to Twin Cities metro area schools and sporting events. In addition, IAM has provided Athletic Training Services for the Women's World Hockey Championships, National Jr. Olympic Boys Gymnastic competition, and exclusively for the Minnesota State High School League Championships. Our athletic trainers have expertise and training in prevention, treatment and reconditioning athletic injuries. Sports include: football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, gymnastics and wrestling. Some schools cover softball, baseball and track.

Free Injury Screening
An injured athlete can schedule a free injury screening at any of our 23 IAM clinics. A sports physical therapist or athletic trainer will evaluate the injury and recommend a course of treatment.

24-Hour Athletic Medicine Hotline
An injury hotline service staffed by athletic trainers who answers calls about sports-related injuries 24 hours a day. Athletic Medicine Hotline: (952) 920-8850 (metro area only).

Coaches Workshops
On request, coaches workshops are conducted by our certified athletic trainers. Such topics as emergency situations, injury evaluation and treatment, and taping techniques are presented in both lecture and hands-on training.

Pre-Season Fitness/Injury Assessments
Pre-season fitness/injury assessments are offered before fall and winter sports seasons for local high schools and colleges. Assessments performed by physical therapists and certified athletic trainers. Physicians are also available for physical exams or for special concerns and further evaluation.
